Directors

For each production it is essential to choose the right Director to transform the script or storyboard into an effective television commercial, without compromising the creative. To that end we have built up a strong stable of Directors each with their own distinctive style and areas of expertise.

PETER CLAPPERTON
Peter comes from a strong creative design background. He is a very flexible Director with a fresh and original approach, often iincorporating a comedy element if appropriate.

His work for Space City includes: IMP Wildlife Cards, UKTV Style File, Decca - Hayley Westenra: "Pure", Maplin Electronics, Harvey's Furnishing & National Accident Helpline.

RICHARD SPENCE
Richard has won two Bafta awards as a drama Director and has many TV and feature film credits to his name. It is this style of directing which he brings to Space City's commercials, most recently for esure car insurance.
Other commercials for Space City include: Help The Aged, Budget Car Insurance, CGU Direct & The Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

TOM HOOPER
Tom is a relatively new addition to our line-up and brings a fresh, calm approach to our commercials. His first commercial for Space City was a highly successful campaign for uSwitch. He has since worked for us in Dublin, directing a series of commercials for One Direct Insurance. Other work includes: Liverpool Victoria and Forresters Friendly.

SENARA WILSON

Senara's background in Documentaries gives her a fresh approach to the classic presenter and testimonial based DRTV commercials. Female directors are often in short supply, but are particularly appropriate for sensitive subject areas or those commercials which need that stylish ‘look'.

Senara's credits for Space City include American Life / AIG, Transform Cosmetic Surgery, three commercials for Vision Express and a series of vox pop commercials for Concern.

HANS ODD

Having learned his craft at the BBC, Hans is particularly adept at combining live-action with CG graphics to create dynamic and effective commercials. This requires a strong technical knowledge combined with a sharp eye for detail.

His recent work for Space City includes commercials for Stannah Stairlifts and Firstplus Loans.

BEN DODD
Ben is Space City's in-house Director. Having commenced his career in the Direct Response market, he has developed a strong eye for detail which combines well with his impressive creative flair. A hard-working Director, Ben has recently worked on campaigns for Mencap, Reader's Digest, Britannia Music, Screentrade and Insure & Go.
